OFFICIAL NEWSFLASH

As of 4 December 2007, Geekspeak, which you know and love,  will no longer be aired on KDNK due to a scheduling change. The show that is currently on KDNK which is called Geekspeak, hosted by Steve Skinner, is not the show you'd enjoyed in the past. The station management thought the community would be better served if the show were moved from it's original time slot , Mondays at 12:00-1:00PM, to Mondays at 4:30-5:00PM and the vacated time slot used for musical programming.

For the past ten years the Geekspeak crew had been providing free, live tech support to members of the community who were working through computer issues, either at work or at home. Since listeners are usually commuting during the proposed time slot, the Geeks would no longer be able to fulfill a major part of their mission which was to empower computer users by giving them confidence and information to enable them to take control of the recalcitrant, spiteful and infuriating little beasts.

Geekspeak had been the Roaring Fork Valley's most popular computer show where  Captain Father Neal and Angela the GeekGirl had lived to serve your computing needs every Monday. Their glib patter, interviews and tech savvy had kept their loyal listeners glued to the radio.

Apparently, there is no interest from local commercial stations in hosting the original Geekspeak, but we're sure the new Geekspeak will serve your computing needs as they arise. We wish you safe, secure, and productive computing and thank you for your past support.
